StylinStrings just turned 10 years old, and is
returning to the site that it made it's debut
to the entire lacrosse world. Ten years
after writing the initial articles for the Mesh-X,
Homegrown Pocket, and a few others, SS is back
for good.
After years of being at the forefront of the stringing
and dyeing customization movement, SS went
underground the last few years reinventing itself
to launch back into the mainstream lacrosse media
with a bang.
A new website, new management, remodeled
retail store in York PA, expanded dye lab, stick
photography/video studio, and full team
of string/dye artist, SS is here to stay, especially
as a featured contributor to e-Lacrosse.
This article features a full custom project for
the NLL's Philadelphia Wings. The idea was to
brand some sticks with the Wings logos and
Breast cancer ribbons to use in their silent auction
on Breast Cancer night when the team wore
Pink jersey's when playing the Buffalo Bandits.
So the guys at StylinStrings tricked out an STX Viper
and a Reebok 9k with different custom variations
of the Wings logos. Thru stage dyeing two
colors of pink were used, a Petal pink and a rich Fuscia.
Some of the stickers were put on the heads while white
and others after brief dips in pink to give a ghosted feal
to the logos.
Pat Heim, STX rep, and Wings Player also had the guys
do a full custom STX Surgeon with all ribbons strategically
placed to commemorate how close it hit home with his
own mother.
After the sticks were done it was off to the game where Joe Sheridan
event coordinator of the Wells Fargo Center in Philly put the
SS guys in box seats to enjoy the game for their donation. SS
was featured on the big screen in front of thousands and
some of the pictures Dustin happened to capture was a Wings
knock out for Breast Cancer.
Stay tuned for more custom projects from StylinStrings
