I hope that everyone has recovered fully from Halloween….It took me an extra day to get back to normal after a long Friday night.  For Halloween I dressed up as Paul Bleeker from Juno (picture to follow).  I didnt do anything special, just bounced around Federal Hill.

A lot has happened since my last post and I wanted to catch everyone up to speed.  For starters, I have signed to play indoor this year with the Philadelphia Wings and training camp starts this weekend.  Needless to say, I am not excited for training camp, but I am excited to get back out on the floor.  On top of indoor starting, I have signed a contract to coach the JV lacrosse team at the Gilman School this spring season.  I am excited about this opportunity to coach at the high school level and to have total control of the offense.

Other than that, everything is pretty normal.  I will repost next week to let everyone know how training camp was.  Unitl next time, have a good one….

I know that it has been a while and I hope that everyone is doing well.  I just got back from a two week vacation in Hawaii that ended my hectic summer and now it is time to go back to work.  This summer has been a busy, but well worth it.  For the last three months, I have been on the road with maybe a week at home in Baltimore.  My travels have taken me from Baltimore to New York, New Jersey, California, Denver, Texas, Illonois, North Carolina, and Hawaii but I wouldnt have it any other way.  Lacrosse was tough this summer for me, not playing for the Dragons for some odd reason and than being traded half way through the season and playing pretty poorly for the Bayhawks.  Oh well, life goes on and now it is time to gear up and get ready for indoor.  I am not sure what is going on yet with indoor, but things should play themselves out over the next month or two.  Trilogy had an awesome summer.  While most camp companies were down, we were up.  We have built a very good following that keeps getting bigger the longer we are in the game and we are only going to grow from here.

With the summer coming to an end, it is time for me to go back my full time job, teaching.  We have our first set of meetings tomorrow morning with school starting the day after Labor Day.  I am looking forward to going back because I will finally be able to get back into my normal daily routine.  Getting back into a routine allows me to start a new workout that is hopefully going to get me back into shape in the next four weeks.  It is two lifts per day, three days a week.  After the four weeks, I will go back to a once a day, four days a week workout.  Being home also allows me to spend some time with my dog Mason.  I havent seen him in the last four weeks and only saw him a little this summer, needless to say, he is happy that I am home.
How does everyone feel about the Olympics?  The US were pretty consistent with their medals, I believe it was 36 gold, 38 silver, and 36 bronze (or something along those lines).  It was great to see Baltimore’s own Michael Phelps absolutely dominate the swimming pool, Usain Bolt from Jamaican tear up the track in the 100 and 200, and Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor  own the sand for a second straight Olympics (there uniform arent bad either).  The women’s gymnastics team had a really strong showing, Lisa Leslie won her 4th gold medal with the women’s basketball team, and the men’s basketball team (easily the best 12 person basketball team in the world) finally got back to where it should be by bringing home the gold in a tough game versus Spain.  There were a ton of other sports that I watched throughout the Olympics that were amazing to see, handball and badmitten are two that I would love to play.
With all that being said, who is ready for football to start.  I have watched a few preseason games, but havent been able to really get into it yet.  I had my fantasy football draft yesterday and now I cant wait for the season to start.  I love nothing more than waking up on a Sunday morning, getting my Ravens gear on and walking over to the stadium.  Game days in Federal Hill are amazing, the whole are goes purple and black.
Well, I hope that everyone has a good week and I will check back soon.

Whats up everyone?  I hope you are having a good Opening Day, even though the weather is pretty crummy.  I know that being a laxer, means that we are supposed to hate baseball, but I cant do it.  I grew up a baseball fan and have meet some pretty phenomenal baseball players over the years and there still isnt much that beats going to an O’s game on a nice Spring/Summer night.  Event hough the O’s +/- for the year (according to Vegas) is only 66 (that means that if they win 66 games, they have lose 97….thats pathetic), and have had 10 straight losing seasons, I am still a fan and will always be.

This past weekend was a good one and I am definitely feeling it today.  The Titans had a bye week, so we had no lacrosse obligations this weekend, so I had some time to catch up with some friends that I havent had a chance to hang out with in a while.  On Saturday we celebrated Tom Garvey’s 25th birthday and boy did we celebrate.  We started the night at an amazing dinner at Sammy’s Tratoria on Charles Srteet in Mount Vernon.  The owner is also the cook and the food is amazing.  The atmosphere is nice, if you can get passed all of the Hopkins memorabilia (JHU goes to their pregame dinner there).  After dinner we hit up Federal Hill and than back to Tom’s for late night shenanigans.  Needless to say, I was feeling pretty awful all day Sunday, but Tom’s birthday was a night to remember.

Now onto lacrosse…….What is going on in D1 this year?  Hop losing 4 straight and 3 of those in OT.  I may be biased becuase the backup goalie for the Hop is my roomate, but come on Petro, give him a shot.  Closer to home, what is up with TOWSON.  How can my alma mater be sooooo bad.  How do you only beat Robert Morris by one goal and trail the entire game?  Good luck Tuesday versus a good underated UMBC team.  Maryland, is playing well (smoking UVA) minus a tough 3 OT loss to UMBC and a schalacking by UNC.  Did I mention they have 4 freshmen rotating through on their attack and a freshmen starting at D.  UVA and Duke looked like the teams to beat, but have struggled as of late.
Lacrosse has become a sport of parity and it is great seeing teams knocking eachother around and off of the pedistal.  Keep it rolling and it should make for an interesting run for the next two months.
Until next time…..
