Of course the two events are different, in one case a person tried to extort some people and the other a human was killed. The prosecutor in Virginia is trying to maintain an untainted jury pool and you choose to post 'Huguely did it'. I personally would hate to see justice hindered in any way or the perpetrator may not receive the justice that the crime demands.

I'm not sure the racist remarks were proven or I would have mentioned. How classless would that be to invite black strippers and then call them names? I am hoping that did not occur.

Completely agree with this well written commentary. However, the Duke team did make some racist remarks at the lying stripper. That should not be overlooked, as it helps add to your point about rich, privileged individuals taking away from the sport of lacrosse as a whole.

You are right on the money. For the life of me, I do not understand why they elected to play, and why the school allowed them to play.

The facts will come out, as the "Requested not to be Identified" whisperers are already letting the actual accounts of what really went on at UVA bubble up to the surface.

What is UVA doing with respects to it's own investigation? Is there one?
If so who is conducting it?

Starsia and Van Arsdale will not survive this. Starsia will resign within weeks of the end of the season, citing personal reasons, a long and tiring career, etc......... Van Arsdale will not be asked to return. If he is lucky, he gets the job at MD or PSU, but most likely, he is going to get tainted by this. What is going to come out will be multiple transgressions by multiple players going back a number of years, with a well known within the team and alumni pattern of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances.
Alcohol, drug use, theft, cheating, honor code violations, etc....... were an every year occurrence on this team. It's all there, and within the inner circle of UVA Lacrosse, it's well known. The next ring of that circle is now talking and sharing stories, Facebook pictures, text messages and emails, both with the CPD and the tabloid media that is offering cash bounty for the goods.

How they can go on national TV and act like this was some random event by a fellow teammate is beyond belief and understanding. But then again, look at the world we live in today, where our Presidents can pull the stunts they do, and wiggle out of it, where our super hero of golf cant even get an order of Pancakes without jumping in the sack with the waitress, and on and on.

Will be interesting to see how it all ultimately plays out, but you are right on the money with how this will be spun, broadcast and sold the the rest of the country as a "Lacrosse" thing.

Sad
