4/27/2013 Cornell vs Princeton

In a possible preview to the Ivy League tournament, Cornell takes on Princeton in a game that could doom either team.

Both teams are in the Ivy tournament win or lose.  However, neither team is putting up an impressive resume thus far.  A win here and another one or two in the Ivy tournament would lock a bid.

Cornell is 11-2 with wins over Yale and UPenn.  They have lost to Bucknell and Syracuse
Cornell is led by Rob Pannell with (29 goals, 37 assists), Steve Mock (41g, 7a), and Connor Buczek (23g, 14a).  In goal is AJ FIore with 8.09Goals Against Average, with a save percentage of 53.5%

Princeton is 8-4 with wins over Hopkins and Yale.  The Tigers have lost to North Carolina, UPenn, Syracuse, and Dartmouth.
Princeton is led by Schreiber (23g, 25a), Mike MacDonald (31g, 11a), and Jeff Froccaro (28g, 12a).  In goal is Matt O’Connor with 9.43GAA, and save percentage of 51.4%. Or they could go with Eric Sanschagrin who started the last game and in limited action has posted 5.7GAA, and a save percentage of 62.5%

While I like Cornell’s individual contributors better, I can’t ignore that each Princeton loss was a 1 goal loss. A 4 goal swing and they could be undefeated.
I think Princeton is overlooked by many, and Cornell/Rob Pannell is overhyped to the same extent.
I was right about UVA beating Maryland…let’s see if my underdog picks continue.  Princeton wins this one.
