SCORPION LACROSSE TO BE JOINT SPONSOR OF THE GWLL CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND
Birmingham, MI - Scorpion Lacrosse announced, this week, its participation as equipment sponsor for the Great Western Lacrosse League Championships May 2nd through 4th 2008, held at Birmingham Seaholm High School athletic fields in Birmingham Michigan. This is the first year that the GWLL lacrosse tournament will be in Michigan with the winner receiving an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament in May of 2008. The tournament is being hosted by the Birmingham Lacrosse program, which encompasses both the High School and Junior programs.

Chris Kolon, of Scorpion Lacrosse states, "This is a tremendous opportunity for us at Scorpion to get involved with an outstanding regional lacrosse event. Being an alumnus of the Birmingham Lacrosse program, I have been impressed by what a great job the GWLL and the Parents of both the Birmingham High School and Junior programs have done to make this a first class event."
"We have a great roster of sponsors, but adding Scorpion Lacrosse, a national company committed to the growth of the game and one with local ties will really make this a great weekend," said Tom Stacy, Director of Media Relations for the weekend events.
The weekend contests which will feature Division 1-A college teams will kick off May 2nd; games are scheduled for 5pm and 7:30pm at the Seaholm High school athletic facilities. Seeding of the college teams will be decided by regular season records in league play and the winner will move on to the NCAA lacrosse national tournament. Scorpion Lacrosse will also give some junior lacrosse players a chance to win some of their products during the weekend event, as well as award free custom sticks to the program that books the most group sales for the championship weekend.
